K9WaTch Launches November 12

We are having our official launch party THIS Saturday November 12 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brooklyn Commune, located in Windsor Terrace on the corner of Prospect and Greenwood Avenues.  Cynthia King Dance Studio, Brooklyn Commune, brooklyn-real, KARMABrooklyn, and Sean Casey Animal Rescue have sponsored the event.  This is your opportunity to mix and mingle with all of the great neighbors who signed up to be a part of this.  Plus there will be some delicious snacks!  We will be giving out official K9WaTch bandanas to volunteers and asking people to sign up to have a formal one-on-one training.  Training will consist of walking your dog with another more experienced member of K9WaTch so that you can practice making the most of your walks

Whether you have a dog or not, if you’re concerned about the safety of our neighborhood and want to meet your neighbors, please join us!

Calling all dog walkers!

Want to make our neighborhood safer?

KWT Canine Watch (K9WaTch) is mobile neighborhood watch composed of dog owners and non-dog-owners.  We serve the KWT area.  Our presence as a caring neighborhood collective discourages crime by creating awareness and promoting watchfulness in our community.  K9WaTchers walk their dogs as they do normally, but are encouraged to swing by subways to create a more watchful community presence to deter criminals.  Non-dog walkers have signed up to walk in pairs.

K9WaTchers may choose to walk neighbors home, but it is not mandatory.  We also have several volunteer positions available that do not require any walking or escorting.  Registration can be done online by filling out this form.
